Flights Montreal to Delhi: Air Canada’s Seasonal Non-Stop, One-Stop Options and Tips for Quebec Families

Flights Montreal to Delhi Air Canadas Seasonal Non-Stop One-Stop Options and Tips for Quebec Families

The non-stop is back from 25 October. Here is how the winter schedule works, what to do on the days it is not flying, and how Quebec families can plan the holiday trip home.

Quick answer: is there a non-stop flight from Montreal to Delhi this winter?
Yes, but only for part of the year. Air Canada’s non-stop Montreal (YUL) to Delhi returns on 25 October 2026 and runs until 26 March 2027 on a Boeing 787-9. From 1 November it drops from five to four flights a week, so check that your travel day is a flying day. Outside that window, or when the non-stop is full, connect through Toronto, a European hub or the Gulf. Montreal fares are quoted on request. Search at manntravel.ca/flights or call (604) 265-9000.

The seasonal non-stop: dates, aircraft and frequency

Air Canada does not fly Montreal to Delhi all year. It is a winter route. The 2026-27 season looks like this, based on the schedule published by AeroRoutes in September 2026.

Airlines adjust days and dates during a season. We check the live schedule when you book, so the day you want is a day the aircraft flies.

One-stop options when the non-stop does not fit

Four flights a week leaves three days with no non-stop, and holiday fares on it climb quickly. For many Quebec families a one-stop route is the sensible choice. Here are the three ways to do it.

Via Toronto

A short hop from Montreal to Toronto Pearson, then a non-stop to Delhi. Air Canada flies Toronto to Delhi non-stop, and so does Air India. On Air Canada you can usually have both legs on one ticket, with bags checked through. Connecting onto Air India? Ask us how the tickets are combined. We cover the Toronto route in detail in our Toronto to Delhi guide.

Via Europe

Paris, London and Frankfurt all work as connecting points. Paris is a natural fit for Montreal travellers, and French-language service on the first leg is a comfort for grandparents.

Via the Gulf

Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi connections are the longest in total time, but they are often well priced and generous with baggage. Some Gulf carriers depart from Toronto rather than Montreal, so the itinerary may include an extra domestic leg.

Route

Typical total journey time

Best for

Non-stop (Air Canada)

About 13.5 to 14 hours

Families with young children, elderly parents, anyone who wants it over in one go.

One stop via Toronto

About 17 to 20 hours

Days when the non-stop is not flying. More airline choice.

One stop via Europe

About 17 to 21 hours

Flexible dates, a break halfway, often good value.

One stop via the Gulf

About 19 to 24 hours

Value, baggage and onward connections to other Indian cities.

Journey times are typical ranges including the stop. Your itinerary will show the exact times.

Timing the trip around Quebec's winter break

Most Quebec families travelling to Delhi in winter plan around the school holidays, which run from just before Christmas to early January. That is also the busiest two weeks on this route. With the non-stop reduced to four flights a week, the seats on the days around 20 to 24 December and 2 to 6 January go first.

Here is what works for the families we book.

1. Book the non-stop days first

Decide your ideal dates, then check which of them are flying days. If the dates and the days line up, book early. If not, shifting by one day is often enough.

2. Fly out a few days before the rush

Leaving in the week before schools close usually means a better fare and a quieter airport. Returning in the second week of January, rather than the weekend before school starts, also helps.

3. Compare one-stop with non-stop before you decide

Around the holidays the gap between the two can be large. For a family of four, the saving may cover the domestic flights within India.

4. Students and education staff: use MannPass

Verified students and education staff in Canada can join MannPass. It takes CAD $25 off selected return flights between Canada and India. Membership is valid for 30 days and can be renewed, and it cannot be combined with other promotions. Montreal students flying home for the break should ask about it.

5. Pack for two climates and leave extra time

You leave Montreal in snow and land in a Delhi winter. Days are mild, but mornings and nights are cold, and fog can delay flights in December and January. Build a buffer day before any onward domestic flight. At YUL, arrive three hours early to allow for de-icing queues. Check your airline’s allowance before you fill the bags with gifts. Our baggage allowance guide has the details.

What the fare looks like right now

Our homepage fares are currently published for Vancouver departures. As a guide, Vancouver to Delhi is from CAD $989 per person, one-way from Vancouver, checked 9 October 2026, prices change daily. Montreal to Delhi fares are quoted on request, because the seasonal schedule and the holiday dates move the price around. Tell us your dates and we will come back with live options for the non-stop and the best one-stop alternatives.

Arriving at Delhi IGI

International flights arrive at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport. After immigration and baggage, prepaid taxi counters, app-based cabs and the Airport Express Metro are all signposted. If you are connecting to a domestic flight, allow at least three hours, more in December and January when fog causes delays.

Documents: Indian e-Visa or OCI

Canadian passport holders need a valid Indian visa or an OCI card. The e-Visa is applied for online through the official Indian visa website. Apply well before you fly, check that your passport has at least six months left, and make sure the names match your ticket exactly. OCI holders should carry both the OCI card and the passport it is linked to. Our Indian e-Visa guide for Canadians walks through the application step by step.
